Book Description:

Mandy Malone ditches her pharmaceutical convention and the married male colleagues hitting on her to hurry home to her waiting family. But she doesn’t bank on the blizzard that forces her off the road and into a deserted rest stop. When she meets another road refugee, their attraction is immediate and molten hot. Suddenly, getting stranded doesn’t seem like such bad luck after all.

Although totally unprepared for Mandy’s unvarnished proposition, Jack is intrigued by the erotic offer of a promising night of no-questions-asked sex. But when he notices the wedding band on Mandy’s finger, will he forego the lure of a torrid clandestine affair, or give in to the fantasy of blazing hot sex on a wintry night?

Book Excerpt:

She rooted around in her handbag again, on the off chance she’d missed something useful to her current situation.

“Is this what you’re looking for, lady?”

Mandy glanced up, startled by the deep, rumbling baritone that echoed loudly in the fairly quiet building. And even more startled by the tall, gorgeous hunk of manhood bundled into a down parka standing next to her table.

I could totally jump him. Right here. Right now.

From nowhere, steamy erotic images of what she wanted to do with the man leaped unbidden into her head. She’d never felt such instant attraction to anyone, such a frantic desire. Maybe it was a reaction to her frightening experience on the Thruway. Or maybe something else created the overpowering chemistry.

Besides being the most handsome man she’d ever laid eyes on, he held out a battery-operated pocket charger. A sigh escaped her as he stared down at her.

“It’s not the only thing I’m looking for.” Her voice, husky and sultry, and laden with blatant sexual innuendo, shocked her. Where had those words come from? Nearly alone with him in the deserted rest stop…and still she felt…safe.

“Yeah?” The man removed his parka, revealing a plaid flannel shirt, the triangle of a white, cold-weather T-shirt peeping from the open neckline. When he raised his arms, thick bands of muscle rippled across his chest, beneath the layers of fabric. He riveted her with brilliant azure eyes, bluer than a lake under the summer’s sun. His hair, which curled a bit boyishly at his temples, resembled a wet beach, light, dirty brown, with shimmering bronze threads straggling through the locks. But this was no boy. No, indeed.

God. Gorgeous did not even begin to cover it. The longer he looked at her, the hotter she became. So hot she suddenly felt she’d do anything, dare anything with this man.

My Book Review:

Blizzard is a sizzling short novella about two strangers who meet while seeking refuge in a deserted rest area during a blizzard. Their instant attraction leads to a steamy one night stand that is simply hot, hot, hot! For one hot steamy night, Mandy Malone can forget about the stress of her career and marriage and release her passion and desire in the strong warm arms of a ruggedly sexy man named Jack.

Author Taryn Kincaid weaves a tantalizing tale written in the third person narrative that follows a night of sexual indulgence by Mandy and Jack as they seek shelter from a blustery winter blizzard. The reader can't help but get swept away by this enticing quick tale, the intensity and raw chemistry that Mandy and Jack share is simply delicious! This fun little story has enough character back story, sizzling sexual tension and chemistry, witty verbal bantering and hot steamy sex scenes, and a surprise twist of an ending that makes Blizzard a thoroughly entertaining story that leaves the reader wanting more!

Blizzard is one of the books in Decadent Publishing's Edge Series / Sleepy Hollow Series, but is a stand alone read.

Book Description:

Can a long lost love mend a grieving heart?

Widowed at twenty-three, Savannah Grant is devastated and consumed with grief, a grief that she can't seem to move past. When her high school sweetheart, Lance Peterson, re-enters her life, Savannah struggles with the feeling that she would be betraying her deceased husband by moving on. Plus, she can't forget the way Lance broke her heart all those years ago.

Lance never stopped loving Savannah. He wants a second chance, and he's willing to do anything it takes to convince her to give him one. Will she give in and let Lance love her, showing her a passion beyond anything she thought possible?

Content Warning: adult language, explicit sexual situations, anal play.

Book Excerpt:

Van laid by the pool while Lance swam his daily laps. His offer for the house he was renting hadn’t been accepted, so he’d bought one a few blocks over. It was huge, and Van didn’t understand why he wanted something so big. He told her the built-in grill, outside bar, huge deck, and pool had sold him.

Lance got out of the pool, grabbed a towel, and dried himself. Van finally got up enough nerve to ask him about what was weighing on her mind. She sat up in the lounge chair and took a deep breath. “Lance, can I ask you a question?”

“You can ask me anything.”

She decided it was best to be straightforward. “I was wondering how many women you’ve been with. I’m not jealous or anything, I was just wondering where all your naughty, sexual ideas came from.”

“Do you feel I push you too hard to try new things? Because please, tell me if anything I do makes you uncomfortable.”

“No, I don’t feel that way.”

He dropped his towel and stalked toward her like a lion about to pounce on his prey, sending lightning bolts of arousal through her.

“Don’t move,” he commanded as he straddled the lounger to sit behind her. Lance pulled her body against his and placed his hand just under her bikini top, causing her body to shudder. “Do you like the things I say and do to you, Savannah?” he whispered into her ear as he slowly pushed up the scrap of material holding her breasts hostage and palmed her tits.

Van closed her eyes and saw stars behind her lids as he pinched her nipples while exploring her neck with his mouth. “I love what you do to me,” she replied between labored breaths.

“There were only a few. One was older, and she liked things dirty and rough. Now, if you would like me to show you everything she taught me, it would be my pleasure,” he whispered. He caressed her skin from her breasts down to her bikini bottoms as he kissed her neck. A small moan escaped her lips when he slid his hand inside her. “You’re so wet for me.”

“Oooh!” She couldn’t form a coherent thought, nor speak at that moment. The feelings he aroused in her rendered her senseless.

“I want to do many things to your amazing body. I need you to know I’d never hurt you. I just want us to find the ultimate pleasure with each other. Do you trust me?” He slid his finger deep inside her pussy.

“Yes, God, I need you.” She thought she would lose it when he added two more.

“I want you to come all over my fingers.”

She cried out in pleasure the moment he rubbed her clit, and her orgasm hit her full force. She tilted her head so she could kiss him. “Wow! Thank you.”

“You’re very welcome.” He chuckled. “Let’s go for a quick swim and then go out for a nice dinner.”

“Sounds perfect.”

My Book Review:

Southern Embrace is the poignant story of love, loss, heartbreak and second chances.

The story opens with nineteen year old Savannah (Van) getting over the heartbreak of her high school sweetheart, Lance Peterson moving out of state. Van's best friend Nichole (Nikki) encourages her to put Lance in the past and move forward with her life. While at a club, Van meets twenty-seven year old Stephan Grant, there is a mutual attraction between them. Fast forward three years, twenty-three year old Van is grieving over the death of her husband Stephan from a car accident. Once again best friend Nikki is encouraging Van to move forward with her life. A chance meeting brings Van and Lance together again, but Van wants nothing to do with the man who had once broke her heart. Can Lance find a way back into Van's heart? Will Van be able to move past her husband's death for a second chance at love?

Author Tamaria Soana weaves a beautiful story of love, loss and second chances. Written in the third person narrative and set in Georgia, the reader follows Savannah's emotional journey of love, heartbreak, loss and gaining a second chance at love. This poignant short novella will pull at your heartstrings, you can't help but feel for Van as she overcomes the traumatic adversities in her life, the intensity of her emotions is palpable and will have you reaching for the tissues. With the loving support of her best friend Nikki, Van is able to move forward in her life and open herself up to a reunion with her ex-high school sweetheart Lance Peterson. I loved the easy flow of the story, it captivates you and sweeps you along as Van moves through the stages of grieving and getting her life back on track. Her love and loyalty for her late husband is inspirational, but her ability to open herself up to renewing a friendship and passionate romantic relationship with Lance was heartwarming and left a smile on my face. This short novella was an enjoyable read, it will simply touch your heart.

Southern Embrace is a heartfelt romantic novella that is a wonderful testament to the power of love and second chances.

Book Description:

Enroute to their 1Night Stand dates, Chelsea Haller and Alec Ramsey are stranded in the airport during an unexpected snowstorm.

It doesn’t take long to discover they’re each other’s one-night stand. Lucky for them, they’re drawn together by sizzling electricity and soon forget the icy snow. As the heat between them nearly melts the sheets in Alec’s hotel room, their night of erotic adventure surpasses anything they expected from a 1Night Stand.

The author constructed an instantaneous connection between two strangers so passionate that even with the length constriction, just 33 pages, the romance is infinite. Once again Ms. Holt delivered… two characters that are completed devoted to each other. - Books Books and More Books

Book Excerpt:

He walked up behind her and hesitated a moment before resting his hands on her shoulders. When she didn’t try to shrug him off or move away, he knew she felt the same attraction he did. Was he moving too fast? Hell, sex was the main item on the night’s agenda, anyway. They both knew it. If she shut him down he’d be no worse off than before.

But she didn’t. When he brushed aside her thick mane of hair and skimmed his lips over the soft skin of her neck, a shiver ran through her. A silent acceptance of his touch. God, she smelled so good, like flowers and the ocean and sin. He licked her skin lightly then nibbled on the lobe of one ear.

She pressed back against him and he turned her to face him, studying her for a moment then brushed his mouth over hers. Her lips were lush and full and tempting, with the feel of soft velvet. Tracing the seam of them with the tip of his tongue, he urged her to open for him and thrust inside her.

Jesus!

Her mouth was hot and liquid, her tongue dancing like a live wire. He moved his hands up and down her back, feeling the heat of her through the fabric of the dress. She gripped his biceps with her fingers and when she pressed her lower body against his, every nerve in his body fired. He wanted to go slow, take it easy. Give her the chance to get used to him. They’d barely gotten to know each other. But his body and brain were engaged in a fierce battle for control.

My Book Review:

What are the chances that fate could bring together two strangers stranded in an airport during a snowstorm for a passionate one night stand?

Chelsea Haller's life in Tampa, Florida has been turned upside down: she lost her job as a graphic artist for an advertising company due to downsizing and she has ended a bad two year relationship. Feeling depressed and out of sorts, her friend Laura talked her into hooking up with a one night stand through Madam Eve's online 1 Night Stand Agency to get her out of the funk she is in. The one night stand fantasy destination: a cabin on a lake in Maine.

Alec Ramsey is a pilot from San Antonio, Texas, who just turned forty. For Alec, chasing women has lost its thrill, now he wants to find the right woman to settle down with. A friend of Alec's talked him into applying online for a one night stand with Madam Eve's 1 Night Stand Agency after he had found the love of his life. The one night stand fantasy destination: a cabin on a lake in Maine.

When a snow storm in Boston cancels Chelsea and Alec's connecting flights to Portland, Maine, both find themselves nursing drinks in an airport bar. An instant attraction with sparks of electricity flying and a swapping of coincidental delayed plans leads Chelsea and Alec to spend a passionate night together in his airport hotel suite.

Flyover is a short and sassy erotic romance story in the 1 Night Stand Series that is simply hot, hot, hot! Author Desiree Holt provides the reader with a titillating tale of strangers meeting up for a steamy one night stand through the magic of Madame Eve's 1 Night Stand Agency. With an instant attraction and sparks of electricity, the reader follows along as Chelsea and Alec spend a passionate night in a luxury suite where their comfortable connection with each other has them engaging in a heady erotic night of love making. I appreciate that the author weaves a story that flows smoothly between the couple's making a connection with each other and their sizzling sexual encounters, believe me I'm all for the sex scenes, but a nice little romance story built in gives the reader a thoroughly enjoyable fantasy fix!

Flyover is an enjoyable quick little escape into a sexy fantasy world that will leave you satisfied and with a smile on your face.

Secret Desire by Susan D. Taylor (Author Guest Post / Book Review)

In association with Buy The Book Tours, Jersey Girl Sizzling Book Reviews welcomes Susan D. Taylor, author of Secret Desire!

Author Guest Post

Romance Isn’t All About Love.

When writing Secret Desire, the first thing that came to mind had nothing to do with being in love for Claire Robertson, the heroine. The premise started with a problem. What would happen if a woman’s (journalist) secret suddenly became public? The exact problem was a dilemma in my life, writing privately, and then deciding to attempt publication. It’s one thing to write, letting your mind go where ever it happens to ramble, and hitting “control” and “s.” Saving my work was nothing except habit. I did it, and at that point, it didn’t seem likely I was ready for the next level.

But then I began to see a spark of interest in writing groups I belonged to, and won a few query contests, and then my oh-so-private writing wasn’t going to stay in the dark if I continued pushing the envelope. There are only so many contests you can enter before you have to show the goods. Meaning, with query contests, a writer gets asked for a manuscript. As a beginning writer, I didn’t believe that day was close. Truthfully, when I began to write I wasn’t focused on publication. That’s a writer’s dream. I was focused on learning how to write.

Secret Desire became a love story because I write romance. So there had to be a love interest. But why would they not be together? That problem was used in determining, okay we have a woman who writes in the closet and she must be doing that because she’s unsure, or frustrated, or her writing is an outlet? Something is wrong, but what? This issue began to help mold who the characters were to become. I needed a lover, I needed an issue larger than the premise (a tragedy) to force a change in Claire’s life, and then more conflict. And more conflict.

In romance, every scene should have a problem. And a writer’s job is to heap on the problems almost tearing about the lovers apart. And in Secret Desire, that tearing them apart would be history repeating itself which added tension. Some problems are small, and some terribly huge, almost insurmountable (the black moment) leaving a reader wondering, it might be possible this story doesn’t end happily.

But rest assured, in romance the story will have a happy ending. It’s just the job of the writer to make a reader question, maybe this time…it won’t.

Book Description:

The problem with twins is that they look so much alike…

By day, Claire Robertson is a staff writer for a small publication in Seattle. But when the lights go down, she writes sizzling and oh-so-naughty erotica. She keeps these stories safely tucked away, hiding her secret fantasies of her hero, Dustin Murray. The man who stole her heart six years ago. And then jumped into bed with her twin sister.

Dustin never forgot Claire, or her twin sister’s lies that tricked him into sleeping with her. Nor has he forgotten that her sister’s threats have kept him silent for six years and cost him the woman he loved. Now that Claire’s returned home, Dustin isn’t about to lose her again. But it’ll be another thing to convince Claire he’s prepared to do whatever it takes to win her back.

When Claire accidentally sends the wrong story to her editor, things really heat up. With hot the new black in publishing, her editor thinks he’s struck gold and queues the story for publication. The last thing Claire needs is for everyone to learn that she’s got secrets of her own…

Book Excerpt:

The man’s gaze fell to her legs still carelessly strewn across her desk. Her heart thundered in her ears. Warmth from his sharp exhale caressed the skin at her ankles.

She bit her lip and decided—no regrets for trying “And?” She returned his mocking raised-brow expression in an eye-for-an-eye stare down.

“I’m Thornton Maxwell…your attorney.” He turned away, but not before she caught his look of displeasure. “God. Woman, do you even know what a mess you’ve got on your hands? We need to talk. A real pressure cooker is about blow.”

Cynthia froze. This wasn’t part of her erotic fantasy. What was he talking about? Should she just come out and admit she had no idea of what was going on or get him to divulge what demanded damage control?

She pretended unconcerned boredom in an attempt to buy some time to think. “Someone’s got his panties in a real twist.”

This wasn’t the first time she’d needed legal. But if he was her new go-to man, she was tempted to screw more things up.

This was a conundrum. He was too damn good-looking. This type of man didn’t appreciate a dumbbell. Did he know how hard she worked or that sometimes contracts needed to be bent? “Explored” is what she liked to call it. Wasn’t that why McGavock Publishing hired a boatload of first-year attorneys anyway? Shoot, he was probably upset because his weekend golf game was about to be rained out.

He paced in front of her desk while raking fingers through his thick, dark hair. Cynthia noticed the way he flexed and moved his arms, his muscles pumping and expanding. He stopped, spun around, and marched back to her desk.

“Lewis, when you cross out clauses and write your own notes into a publishing contract, we don’t have a legal leg to stand on in court when an issue is disputed. The things you’ve included to get an author to sign without consulting legal is tying us in knots. The next time you promise a writer the moon, you better consult me first and NASA second. Not whatever pops into that pretty little head of yours. You need my help with this lawsuit, and I expect your cooperation. You might as well know now that’s going to mean during office hours as well as evenings and weekends.”

His finger was pointed directly in front of her face. She imagined sucking the tip until her sex-crazed brain finally grasped his message.

What? She was floored. Her stomach felt punched, the fist of surprise still lodged in her ribcage. Her mind reeled. It wasn’t possible. She was being threatened with a lawsuit for a couple of silly additions to a contract, and now this man expected her to drop everything. Was he joking? Slowly she inhaled.

“I’m innocent.” She stared back at him. “Sure, I’m not beyond bending the rules, but a lawsuit? No, that’s not possible; it’s impossible. You’ve got to help me.”

“We definitely need a sit-down. Not your usual brush-off and expectation for legal to jump through a hoop. This one is serious.” His gaze swept over her face and downward. The space between them crackled with static energy. He was more than steamed. But he was ready to step in and help her. A spasm of pleasure trilled in her veins. He was her knight in shining armor. She wasn’t the enemy. Not his at least. With all that pent-up fury of his, it was a shame to let it go to waste. He was handsome beyond belief…another time, over cocktails or at a party, she’d not think twice about what her body wanted. His dark eyes weren’t all anger…passion brewed there, pulling the cords to her attraction, making her skin tingle. Oh, my. He wanted to school her good. But maybe she could teach him a thing.

“Thor…Thornton, sit down.” She recouped her confidence. He was in her dominion. The door was closed. Her assistant always knocked before entering. The glass panels were mirrored. He was so near…all she had to do was reach out to him.

She met his bad-boy stare with excitement screaming in her ears.

“Please.” She was almost purring, beseeching him over the rim of her eyeglasses.

“Fine, I’m all ears.” He pulled up a chair closer to her desk. “Well?”

She studied him. If the man ever smiled, he’d be drop-dead gorgeous. She let the papers slip out of her fingers, and she pushed her glasses up on top of her head. Cynthia rubbed her ankles together, and his eyes fixed onto legs.

Ding, ding. Johnny, she had a winner.

She lifted her legs and stood, acting as if arranging her papers was vital. She felt, rather than saw, that his gaze was upon her.

“Client-attorney privilege?” She rounded the desk, trailing her fingers along the surface.

“Yes, whatever you share. Go on.”

“Where shall I begin?” She stopped and leaned back on her desk, directly in front of him. Eighteen inches of space separated them.

“Haven’t you ever longed for something to the point of breaking a few rules? Just once?”

He held his spine erect. He gripped the armrests. She noticed the fine hairs on his fingers, but no ring. She placed the toe of her shoe on the corner of his chair, her ankle only an inch away from his grasp. Her silk skirt lifted, sliding up her thighs, and his gaze shot to the revealed set of black lace Agent Provocateur garters.

She licked her lips and unbuttoned a pearl button. He flared his nostrils ever so slightly. He stared at her fingers. She undid another button. He became a statue. A rather alluring, attentive one. She continued unbuttoning the rest of buttons. She didn’t open her shirt, hoping he’d notice her breasts were unhampered by a bra. The only sound in the room was their breathing.

“Don’t stop now.”

She opened her shirt, revealing ample cleavage. Her nipples hardened at the thought of his mouth teasing her skin.

She rubbed her leg against his thumb. He touched her ankle, lightly at first, before running his fingers up the back of her calf. She pushed her hips forward, her skirt lifted further up and over her thighs.

He made a low, primal sound, melting a reserve within her.

“Do you like what you see?”

Their eyes locked and she smiled. She traced a finger along the bottom of her lip. She stuck just the tip into her mouth and sucked, playfully removing any doubt of where this was going.

“Hmm,” she whispered. “What do you want?”

He closed his eyes and moved his hand over her knee. She went beyond merely teasing him to wanting to feel him deep inside her body.

My Book Review:

Claire Robertson is a Seattle magazine staff writer by day and a secret writer of steamy erotica stories by night. When she goes back to her hometown, she comes face to face with her secret fantasy man, Dustin Murray, who broke her heart six years ago when he got involved with her twin sister Fran.

Dustin Murray has never forgotten Claire, nor has he forgotten that his relationship with Fran had cost him Claire's heart. This time he is determined to win back Claire's love at any cost.

Fran Robertson is Claire's manipulative and driven twin sister. They are polar opposites who have always had a fractured relationship.

With so much conflict and suppressed desire going on, Claire mistakenly emails her editor the wrong story. The editor and parent company decide to venture into erotic eBooks, and he sends her erotic story to publication, making Claire's deeply held secret public!

In Secret Desire, author Susan D. Taylor weaves a sexy tale written in the third person narrative that has a great mixture of romance and sizzling sex scenes that keeps the reader entertained. With an interesting fast paced story within a story, there is enough humor, drama and hot steamy sex between Claire, Dustin and Fran that keeps the reader engaged as their story unfolds.

I loved the polar opposite twin plot line between Claire and Fran, their drama and tension filled relationship is heartbreaking, it is not your typical close twin relationship that it could have been if only Fran wasn't such a manipulative and selfish bitch! And if that isn't enough, there is the turbulent past relationship between Dustin and Claire that once again has the sparks flying,  and their sizzling sexual chemistry is simply hot, hot, hot! And finally there is Claire's secret erotic writer lifestyle that is about to become very public knowledge. This fun little story has so much going on that it easily kept me engaged , it is a sassy, sizzling hot and very enjoyable read!

With a quirky cast of characters who are realistic, flawed and easy to relate to; witty dialogue and steamy interactions; and a thoroughly romantic, dramatic, humorous and sexy storyline; Secret Desire is one hell of an entertaining read!
