Book Description:

Juli Falzone is stuck at home for her thirtieth birthday after the TSA puts her on the no-fly list…until her doorbell rings and she finds two hot cops standing on her porch with a warrant for her arrest.

Are they a practical joke from her well-meaning friends, the best birthday gift ever, or has her identity been stolen? Wanting answers and maybe a little more than curious, she lets them in. Can she talk her way out of the situation or will they make her come along peacefully?

Book Excerpt:

“No, sweetie. I’ve got to go. But I did send you a little gift. Enjoy.” Dara hung up.

Juli held the phone out, staring at it, bewildered by the abrupt brush-off.

Another knock brought her to her senses.

When she opened the door, phone still in hand, a summer breeze blew along her skin. Two police officers, completely opposite in appearance, stood on her stoop, stone-faced serious. The taller, darker cop had a white-knuckled grip on his nightstick. The other, shorter and fairer of hair and complexion, wore a pair of intimidating, mirrored sunglasses despite the darkness.

The taller officer cleared his throat. “Ms. Falzone?”

“Y-yes.”

“May we come in?” the shorter—just shy of six feet—blond man asked.

Her instincts said, no, don’t let them in. But she hadn’t done anything wrong, and they were peace officers. Maybe a crazed killer ran loose in the area, and they wanted to search her backyard, secure her locks and ensure her safety. But after the harrowing day she’d spent at the airport that morning, she was a quart low on trust, dubious of authority figures, and testy in general.

Oh, what the hell.

She opened the door wider, looking past them to the curb. “Sure.” A streetlight shone bright on a sedan. No other cops appeared to be canvassing the neighborhood. The uniformed duo filed in, but she wasn’t in the mood to make a pot of coffee or answer a bunch of inane questions. She’d filled her quota for the day.

“What’s this about?” She closed the door.

“We have a warrant.” The tall man whipped out a tri-folded piece of paper like he meant business.

She scoffed. “A warrant. For what?” She put on her tough girl act, but had visions of spending life in prison. “I haven’t done anything wrong.” Ever.

Someone must have stolen her identity. First the no-fly list, now this.

The blond whipped off his shades, treating her to sky blue eyes. “Haven’t you?”

Dara always encouraged her to take a walk on the wild side. But every potential one-night stand date had struck her as a prospective serial killer or would-be stalker. She didn’t want to have regrets for living a boring life, but she’d seen too many friends, family members and co-workers make tragic mistakes in judgment. Unplanned pregnancies. Bad marriages. Worse divorces. Bankruptcies. She avoided all of the above.

“What’s the charge?”

Officer Tall-Dark-and-Handsome’s upper lip quirked. “The charge is being too sexy to be thirty.”

My Book Review:

Plans for a girls weekend and thirtieth birthday bash in Las Vegas came to a crashing halt for Juli Falzone when she was grounded and put on the TSA's no-fly list. But best friend Dara sent a birthday present in the form of two hot young male strippers to Juli's house. Dressed as cops, Damian (Office Stud) and Jared (Officer Hung) were ready to give Juli the ultimate birthday bash that any woman would surely want!

Birthday Bash by author Kelli Scott is a quick erotic short story that wastes no time in providing an arousing and steamy encounter that satisfies the reader's imagination. With a tantalizing sandwich dance, thirty orgasmic birthday spankings, a slow dance bump-n-grind, a nightstick vibrator, and a role playing threesome, Officers Stud and Hung had no problems breaking down Juli's resistance and inhibitions for a special night of excitement, pleasure and ecstasy!

Oh my goodness, this quick little read was super HOT! Author Kelli Scott pulls no punches, she weaves a sexy tale from the get go that captivates her reader's imagination. With vivid erotic sexual descriptions, steamy dialogue, and arousing interactions, Birthday Bash is one hell of a sizzling story that will make you wish it was your birthday!

About The Author

Left for dead in an enchanted forest, Kelli was raised by wolves, which explains her thick coat of fur and keen night vision. As an adolescent, she was exiled from the pack due to her love of well-done steak smothered in ketchup (her penchant for blackened beef has also caused her ejection from several fine eateries). On her own, she roamed the streets, eating from dumpsters and sleeping in abandoned dog houses. Cold, starving and destitute, Kelli turned to the oldest profession—writing. Since her fall from grace, she has penned several smutty stories for which she has received many accolades. And despite her limited vocabulary, inability to punctuate properly and her well-documented spelling disability, Kelli has collected some awards (some of them for her writing). But what she wants most in the world is to return to the enchanted forest and her pack. As soon as she figures out north from south and east from west, she will do just that.

Book Description:

Elvis left the building a long time ago…

Liz knows that there are some things you just can’t live down. Marrying an Elvis impersonator was one of her biggest mistakes yet when he comes rolling back into town, needing a place to couch surf, she can’t say no to the father of her child.

And someone else took his place…

Jeremy has been engaged in the world’s longest long game. For thirteen years he has loved Liz and her daughter but never made a move, waiting for the right moment. When her ex-husband shows up out of the blue, he realizes it is time to put up or shut up.

But now that Elvis is back, the rumors are flying.

Jeremy makes his move, leaving Liz in a tailspin. Elvis comes back, the man she has always secretly loved is making moves…but why now? The sparks fly and the gossips mouths are running…but will Liz find the love she has been waiting for or will the small town gossips destroy her like they did so long ago?

Book Excerpt:

“Liz?” he said, instead.

Her eyes, glittering in the darkness, came up to meet his. She was worried he was mad at her. It was etched clearly in the lines of her face and the downward tilt of her lips.

Kind of impossible to stay mad at her when her heart knew what her head was too stupid to figure out.

Jeremy slammed his hand through his hair. “I’m gonna just do it.”

“Just do what?” Her complete confusion spurred him further. She is mine. It is about damn time she realized it.

And, well, he just wanted to. His dick twitched just looking at her leaning against the tree. It was too long since he took those lips and maybe they both needed a reminder.

He moved fast so she wouldn’t have a chance to speak—which she would, at length, if he gave her a chance. It was like completing an electrical circuit. Her lips under his were so sweet and yet hungry. She responded like the perfect dream.

He couldn’t think. He couldn’t breathe because every breath smelled of her. When their tongues warred and a little moan escaped her, he hiked her body tighter to his. Her lovely, lean legs wound around his waist and she ground herself against him. Pleasure licked down his skin as he imagined her, wet and hot, under the denim. One of his hands cupped her breast and, even through the hoodie, it felt round and firm.

My Book Review:

Rumor Has It is a fast-paced erotic romance short story about unrequited love between two best friends for the past thirteen years, and how it took an ex-husband coming back into the picture for the friends to realize that they needed to show how much they are in love with each other.

Liz, Jeremy and Vernon grew up in the same small one-horse town in Ohio. Liz and Jeremy both had liked each other, but never expressed their feelings to each other, they only shared one kiss at a high school dance. After high school graduation, Liz and Vernon left their hometown for Las Vegas. Vernon had plans to become a professional poker player, but instead he became an Elvis impersonator, while Liz became a showgirl. They got married in the little chapel where they worked, but not long after they married, Vernon ditched a pregnant Liz for another showgirl. Liz moved back home to Ohio to rebuild a life for herself and her daughter Sara with the help of her friend Jeremy. For thirteen years, Jeremy and Liz had shared a long-term platonic friendship, even though there was a mutual longing for each other that simmered beneath the surface. It took Vernon coming back into the picture for Jeremy to decide that after years of fantasizing, and having pent up passion, lust, and love for Liz, it was time for him to express how much he loved her. Liz had always had feelings for Jeremy too, all the way back to that one special kiss they shared in high school, but for thirteen years Jeremy never showed a moment of sexual interest in her, he only shared a close platonic friendship. Will Jeremy and Liz finally show each other how they really feel, or will Vernon and Liz reunite after thirteen years?

Author Virginia Nelson weaves a sweet and sexy tale of love written in the third person narrative, that engages the reader to follow along as Liz and Jeremy's long-term platonic friendship and unrequited love for each other is brought to the forefront when Liz's ex-husband Vernon comes back into the picture. This quick little story reads like a modern day fairy tale, yet I could easily see this type of relationship scenario occurring in real life. The story covers a span of one week for the love triangle to run its course, and let me tell you that the steamy sex/love scenes at the end is so worth the wait.

With a realistic cast of characters who are lovable, have flaws and are easy to relate to; witty dialogue and interactions; and an entertaining erotic romance storyline that captivates the reader's attention and imagination; Rumor Has It is a fun and sexy quick read that will leave a smile on your face.

About The Author

Virginia Nelson spends her days chasing three very active kids around. When she is not doing this, or plotting taking over the world, she likes to write, play in the mud, drive far too fast and scream at inanimate objects. She can often be found listening to music that is far too loud and typing her next fantastic tale of blood, sex and random acts of ineptitude. Romance, in Ms. Nelson’s opinion, is not about riding off into the sunset on the back of a horse with the knight in shining armor— it is about riding the dragon. If the knight can keep up… well, that is love.

Book Description:

Lili knows she shouldn’t accept a lift from a stranger, but as usual, she leaps from one disaster to another. The consequence is being stuck in the middle of a snowy nowhere wearing next to nothing, and this time, being unprepared looks likely to kill her.

Grant lives in an isolated cabin for a reason. He’s prepared for almost every eventuality. The last thing he wants is some needy person interfering with his ordered life. When he gets into bed with a woman he rescued from certain death—just to warm her up, of course—Grant discovers something else he’s not prepared for. His heart opening.

A match made in heaven, until secrets come knocking. Lili is not just a simple woman in need of shelter, and unless she can survive dealing with her background, it doesn’t seem possible the happiness that’s fallen out of a blizzard can heal Grant’s own past.

Book Excerpt:

I’m going to die. It was a surprise to find herself so calm. But it was the truth. She was going to die. No way would she last more than a few minutes in these temperatures. Her body was already chilling, her teeth chattering, the cold seeping into her designer boots. Blinking snow from her lashes, she hugged herself, tucking her fingers under her arms, the wind biting into her with sharp teeth. The road showed no tracks from a vehicle, other than the one she’d fallen from. She swiveled in a circle, checking for any signs of life. All she saw was a long, empty road lined with pine trees.

Lili gritted her teeth and set off after the truck. Maybe it had stopped around the corner and he was teaching her a lesson. Dieter was always teaching her lessons. Every breath she took was like inhaling shards of ice. At least her feet were dry but that wouldn’t last. These boots weren’t made for walking. Wasn’t that a song? Weren’t made or were made? Hardly before she’d completed the thought, a heel snapped. She stumbled and then limped on. Warm, fur-lined boots lay in her suitcase. She’d stuffed her gloves in her coat pocket. Why hadn’t she thought to grab her bag from the car before she begged a lift?

She knew why. She’d have been forced to wait until Dieter unlocked it, and then he’d have stopped her with words or actions. Leaving everything had been the only way she could escape.

What had he thought when she’d not come out of the restaurant bathroom? How long had he waited before he’d gone looking for her? Which way had he driven? Might he pull up behind her? What should she do if he did?

I’d get in his car. What choice do I have?

Her shaking grew more violent, her body smothered in goose bumps, even, she suspected, her eyes. She’d finally done it, run away, and she’d rather die than go back. Except now that dying was more than a possibility, the word mistake echoed ever more loudly in her head.

As she grew colder and her steps slowed, her mind wandered to what she wished her life had been. Lili wanted to fill her head with happiness because then dying might not be so hard, but there were so few truly happy memories that depression settled more heavily on her shoulders. She wasn’t a naturally unhappy person. She’d learned early on in life to make the best of any situation, but there was no upside to being half-naked in a snowstorm. Her teeth chattered uncontrollably. Cold and sadness seeped through her skin and trickled along her veins.

Somehow she kept moving, hobbling down the road. The longer she could keep going, the more chance she had of surviving. For all she knew there was a house around the next bend. If not that bend, then the next. She wasn’t going to give in until…a wolf stood a few yards in front of her.

Lili stumbled to a halt. Oh damn. Falling asleep in a snowdrift didn’t sound so bad but being eaten by a wolf? She didn’t fancy that at all. The wolf made a sort of bark-howl and bounded toward her. She tried to form the words, “Nice doggy” but her lips were frozen. She stayed right where she was, closed her eyes, and braced for an attack. When it didn’t happen, she opened her eyes to see the wolf had stopped a couple of feet away. It made the weird noise again. Probably calling for reinforcements. Don’t bother. I’m not much of a meal. She moved around it and carried on down the road. A few steps later she’d convinced herself it hadn’t been there.

My Book Review:

Lili is a princess whose whole life has been controlled by her parents and fiance. Tired of being controlled and fearful of her abusive fiance, Lili runs away by hitching a ride with a trucker. When the trucker tries to rape Lili as payment for her ride, Lili fights him off and is left stranded half dressed and with no money in a snowstorm on the side of the road.

Grant Houston is a reclusive author and prepper, who left his past life behind to live in a secluded cabin in the  middle of the woods of Wyoming with a tame wolf named Shadow. Carrying emotional scars from his past, Grant is prepared for any traumatic event, except meeting a half-naked girl stranded on the side of a road in a snowstorm.

Grant rescues Lili and takes her back to his cabin. They are complete opposites, but have similarities as both suffer from emotional pasts. Lili is looking for her Prince Charming, while Grant is afraid to risk loving and losing someone again. As they get to know each other, they overcome obstacles that bring them together under the healing power of love.

The Princess And The Prepper is a short novella that provides the reader with a steamy modern day fairytale where the princess is rescued by her prince. Author Barbara Elsborg weaves a dramatic tale of love, loss and second chances. Written in the third person narrative, the author brings together two people with past emotional baggage, who seek comfort in each other's arms through the healing power of love. The storyline is full of emotional upheaval, drama, humor and steamy sex that draws the reader in as Lili and Grant's story unfolds. You can't help but feel for both Lili and Grant as you learn about their traumatic and emotional pasts, but their coming together makes up for it with some pretty sigh worthy steamy love scenes. From beginning to end, The Princess And The Prepper will engage the reader to cheer on Lili and Grant, hoping for a wonderful happy ending that will leave a smile on their face.

The Princess And The Prepper is a thoroughly enjoyable erotic romance novella that weaves a deeply satisfying emotional tale of love, loss, and second chances.

About The Author

Barbara Elsborg lives in West Yorkshire in the north of England. She always wanted to be a spy, but having confessed to everyone without them even resorting to torture, she decided it was not for her. Vulcanology scorched her feet. A morbid fear of sharks put paid to marine biology. So instead, she spent several years successfully selling cyanide.

After dragging up two rotten, ungrateful children and frustrating her sexy, devoted, wonderful husband (who can now stop twisting her arm) she finally has time to conduct an affair with an electrifying plugged-in male, her laptop. Her books feature quirky heroines and bad boys, and she hopes they are as much fun to read as they are to write.
